Does the UK Online Safety Act block Brazzers / AdultTime / SpiceVids?
The UK Online Safety Act, fully in effect since July 2025, requires age verification for adult-content sites accessed from UK IP addresses. The Act does not block any of these sites outright — Brazzers, AdultTime, and SpiceVids all remain accessible from the UK. What changes is the entry path: a verification gate appears on first visit, requiring users to verify they are 18+ via one of several approved methods (Yoti facial age estimation, VerifyMyAge $1 card check, government-ID upload). Verification is persisted as a cookie for approximately 30 days, so subsequent visits within that window skip the gate. UK users who object to age verification commonly use VPN endpoints in Netherlands, Spain, or other EU countries that have not implemented similar requirements, though the legal status of doing so is ambiguous (Ofcom has indicated VPN circumvention is not itself illegal but encouraging it may be).
